Maryland Heights City Council by Ward

The City Council is the legislative branch of city government. The council carries out a variety of functions such as adopting the budget and policies, and approving ordinances, contracts and agreements. Council members represent their constituents' interests before the city government. Council posts are non-partisan, and terms are two years. Two councilpersons are elected from each of four wards for overlapping terms.

Council meetings are held the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month @ 7:00 p.m. CST.

Maryland Heights Planning & Zoning Commission

The Maryland Heights Planning & Zoning Commission is composed of 7 members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the city council.
They are the planning body of the City of Maryland Heights. The commission is responsible for regulatory planning activities within the city, recommending zoning ordinances to the city council on a variety of land use issues including zoning map changes, revisions in the zoning ordinance and subdivision approvals and responsible for managing the city’s Comprehensive Plan.

Commission meets on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month @ 7:00 p.m. CST.
